Police search for suspect in armed robbery

Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a woman who was withdrawing money from an ATM Thursday evening.
The suspect was described as a white male who was about six-feet tall and 160- 180 pounds, according to a press release from the Portland Police Department, and wearing jeans, a hooded sweatshirt under a gray or blue zippered hooded coat and a black face mask.
Just after 5:30 p.m., police received a report of an attempted armed robbery at the Portland Square TD Bank North ATM. The victim, a 36-year old Falmouth woman, was forced at gunpoint to take money out of her bank account.
Police say the man obtained money from the victim and took her cellphone before fleeing toward Pleasant Street.
